Today has been a wonderful day! Today after three days and three nights in the hospital, I made it back home!
God has been good to us! We are so thankful for family, friends, members of the congregation, my Thursday Bible class, fellow pastors and so many others who have prayed, stopped by and offered support. The doctors, nurses and techs at WMMC (the Hospital in Warrensburg) were wonderful as well.
What a day to feel pain and yet at the same time have so much gratitude! --And that on so many levels!
Here's an update of what we know. For the next few weeks the goal is healing from this major surgery. (They removed about twelve inches of colon and a baseball sized tumor. The cancer appear only to have spread as far as a few lymph nodes which were removed. The doctors called this a "best case scenario.")
As for the nature of future treatment, we'll find out more about that in the coming weeks. For today we are simply thankful to be home, thankful for God's mercy, and thankful to be able to attend church this evening at Holy Cross.
